SURFACE PREPARATION:

ALL SURFACES TO RECEIVE PERMAGLAZE SHOULD BE FREE OF GREASE, OIL LAITENANCE OR OTHER SURFACE CONTAMINANTS. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES SHOULD BE SOUND AND CLEAN. IF UNSURE OF PRIOR COATING TYPE A SMALL SAMPLE OF PERMAGLAZE SHOULD BE APPLIED TO TEST COMPATIBILITY. IF SAMPLE RESULTS IN “ORANGE PEEL” OR OTHER UNDESIRABLE RESULTS A “BARRIER” APPLICATION OF BASECOTE MANUFACTURED BY E.L.S. PRODUCTS CORP. WILL ALLOW SUBSEQUENT APPLICATION OF PERMAGLAZE IN MOST CASES. TECHNICAL SERVICE IS AVAILABLE FROM E.L.S. PRODUCTS CORP. CEMENT BLOCK SHOULD BE PRIMED WITH PERMA BLOCK MANUFACTURED BY E.L.S. PRODUCTS CORP. 1 DAY PRIOR TO APPLICATION OF PERMAGLAZE. SHEETROCK, CEMENT WALLS, OR PLASTER SHOULD BE PRIMED WITH BASECOTE MANUFACTURED BY E.L.S. PRODUCTS CORP. 1 DAY PRIOR TO APPLICATION OF PERMAGLAZE. STEEL OR METAL SHOULD BE PRIMED WITH Z-500 ZINC PRIMER MANUFACTURED BY E.L.S. PRODUCTS CORP.

MIXING:

THOROUGHLY STIR PERMAGLAZE MIX A AND MIX B TO REDISTRUTE ANY INGREDIENTS THAT HAVE SETTLED DURING SHIPPING. COMBINE EQUAL PROPORTIONS OF PERMAGLAZE MIX A AND MIX B. THE MIX RATIO IS 1 PART MIX A TO 1 PART MIX B. ALLOW AN INDUCTION TIME OF 15 OR 20 MINUTES PRIOR TO APPLICATION. PERMAGLAZE HAS AN EXTENDED POT LIFE AND MAY BE USED DURING A 12 LOUR PERIOD AFTER MIXING. MIXED MATERIAL OVER 12 HOURS OLD MAY STILL BE FLUID BUT SHOULD NOT BE APPLIED.

APPLICATION:

AFTER MIXING, PERMAGLAZE MAY BE APPLIED BY SPRAY, PHONELIC CORE ROLLER OR BRUSH. TWO COATS OVER A PROPERLY PRIMED SURFACE WILL YIELD MAXIMUM RESULTS. CURING IS ACCELERATED AT HIGH TEMPERATURES AND RETARDED IN LOW TEMPERATURES. DO NOT APPLY WHEN AIR OR SURFACE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 38 DEGREES F. APPLICATION IN HIGH HUMIDITY ENVIRONMENTS MAY RESULT IN SOME DULLING OF THE “GLAZE”.
